He was predeceased by: his siblings, Malcolm Matthews and Sharon Sager (Francis); his sister-in-law Faye Greer (Max); and his parents, Bob Matthews and Ethel Matthews of Rawdon Township.

He is survived by: his wife Ruth Anne; and his siblings, Belle McCoy (late Garland), Brenda Tuepah (Vince), Thomas, Collin Matthews (Jane) and Valerie Wannamaker (Roger).
