He was predeceased by: his parents, John Leo Paul "Bill" Masse and Ethel Marie Masse (Dinney); his brother Kenneth Phillip "Ken" Masse; his brothers-in-law, Larry McCarthy and Ed Prang; his great-nephew Jackson Masse; and his father-in-law Jim McLeod.

He is survived by: his wife Shellie McLeod; his children, Ryan Masse, Kyle Masse (Anne) and Mathew Masse (Emily Scott); his stepchildren, Jake McLeod and Jenna McLeod; his grandchildren, Addy, Ben, Lukas, William, Violet, Mathew and Ivy; his siblings, Carol Prang, Sharon Romphf (Terry), Pat Masse (Connie) and Barb Reschke (Bob); his mother-in-law Sharon McLeod; and his siblings-in-law, Wendy McLeod-Haggitt (Greg) and Nick McLeod.
