He was predeceased by: his former wife Margaret (Thomson) of Whiting's Antiques; his parents, Earl Whiting and Ethel Whiting (Kestle); his siblings, Blanche (Donald), Stanley (Evaline), Don and Jean (Bill); and his brothers-in-law, Bud Hamilton, Elmer Willis, Gord Kirk and John McAllister.

He is survived by: his wife Barbara Joan (Wright); his daughters, Debra Johnston (Brian) and Nancy Mills (Barry); his stepchildren, Randy Miller (Sharon) and Nancy Brock (Murton); his grandchildren, Ashley (Sal), Michelle (Bryan), Justine (Kyle), Brittany (Jeff), Lindsay (Rob), Dustin (Katie), Mike (Melia), Jason (Becky), Jessica (Steve) and Madison; his great grandchildren, Sawyer, Zayn, Hayden, Denver, Harper, Caiden, Cohen, Chase, Alifa, Sierra, Kenzo, Sage, Chet and Layne; and his siblings, Melba Hamilton-Cornfoot, Shirley Kirk, Paul Ferris and June Keller. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
