He was predeceased by: his parents, Marten Mommersteeg and Antonia Mommersteeg (Van Esch); and his son-in-law John Wiebe. He is survived by: his wife Nellie (Bosch); his children, Michael (Cathy Evans), Linda Middegaal (Jim), Kellie Williams (Owen Moriarty) and Sylvia Wiebe; and his grandchildren, Tyler Middegaal (Hanah Phan), Courtney Middegaal (Brock Spencer), Brooke Regier (Tyler), Kristina Lang (Brian), Dylan Keaney (Bella Piccolo), Ryerson Williams, Makenzie Williams, Megan Wiebe, Ashley Wiebe (John Mueller) and Kyle Wiebe.
A prayer was held on Wednesday, September 18th 2024 at 3:45 PM at the Haskett Funeral Home (456 Main St S, Exeter, ON N0M1S6). Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 18th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, September 19th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Precious Blood Catholic Church (200 Sanders St E, Exeter, ON N0M1S1).
