He was predeceased by: his sibling Glenn; his parents, Carl Stire and Ruth Stire (Kenney); his sister Lynda; and his brother-in-law Dave Baker.

He is survived by: his children, Robert Stire of Crediton and Rebecca Stire of Brantford; his grandsons, Scott Stire of Strathroy, Jason Stire of Kelowna, BC and Jeffery Stire (Nicole) of Edmonton, AB.; his sister-in-law Laura Stire of Exeter; and his nieces and nephews, Mark, Donise Baker, Matthew Baker, Steven Stire and Teresa Stire.
