He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy "Joe" Kenney and Dorothy Kenney (Desjardine); his brother Donald Kenney; and his stepson Robert Jones. He is survived by: his girlfriend Linda Quesnel; his son Dan Sheppard; his sister Pat Case (Harold Gingerich); and his stepchildren, Donna Beaver (Neil Gregory) and Randy Quesnel (Belinda Arbo).

A celebration of life was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Royal Canadian Legion.
