He was predeceased by: his father-in-law Anibal Mendes; his parents, Maria Avelar and Joao Avelar; his brothers, John and Manuel Avelar (Jack Rabbit); his sisters-in-law, Lillie Avelar and Angela Avelar; his niece Natalie Muscat; and his grandchildren, Joey, Jamey and Mia.
He is survived by: his wife Cindy Avelar; his children, Cynthia, Robbie Klie, Michael and Jennifer Avelar; his grandchildren, Brodie Klie, Channing and Kellan Avelar; his mother-in-law Ilda; his siblings, Jose and Julia Avelar; and his sibling-in-law Albertina Avelar. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces and cousins.
