He was predeceased by: his parents, Angus Joe and Catherine Campbell (Beaton); his sisters, Florence MacDonald and Geraldine MacMillan; his son-in-law Jaye Durocher; his siblings-in-law, Fred Richards, Allan MacMillan, Sandra Morris and Juanita Campbell; and his parents-in-law, Peter Mitchell and Sadie Starling.

He is survived by: his wife Eileen (Mitchell); his children, Suzanne (Marc), Karen and Iain (Meredith); his grandchildren, Sarah MacEachern (Akshay), Mitchell MacEachern, Kate MacMillan and Hannah MacMillan; his siblings, A. J. of Mabou, N. S., Raymond, Francis (Mary) of Enfield, N. S., Marion Beaton (Neil), Donelda Stanley (Gene) of Cole Harbour, N. S. and Joan Rankin (Mike); his sister-in-law Annette Cassidy (Tommy); his uncle Francis Beaton; and his aunt Tena Wallace (Beaton). He is also survived by nephews and nieces; cousins, friends and former co-workers.
