He was predeceased by: his siblings, Tinie Koolwyk (late John), Bill Schinkel (Corrie), Joe Schinkel and Willie Hiemstra (Ollie); and his sisters-in-law, Margaret Eshuis (Henry) and Tina Wassenaar (Siek).
He is survived by: his wife Ruth; his children, Jacqueline Banwell (Richard), Terry Schinkel (Tracey) and Greg Schinkel (Andrea); his grandchildren, Ryan Van Huizen (Lynetta), Lauren De Haan (Brian), Alexandra Higgins (Matt), Hayley Van Huizen, Gabriella (Raul Garcia), Garrett, Sterling, Christian Schinkel, Lydia, Harvey, Heidi, Jack and David; his siblings, Johanna Vaandering (John), Corrie Lammers (John), Herman Schinkel, Ben Schinkel (Winnie) and Liz Schinkel (Lieve); and his siblings-in-law, Emmy Wassenaar (late Andy) and Lawrence Moraal (late Linda). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
