He was predeceased by: his spouse Lenea Gomes; his parents, Jose Gomes Botas and Emilia Neto; his siblings, Avelino Gomes (late Emilia) and Isaura Vieira; and his sister-in-law Rosaria Rebelo (late Manuel) of Portugal.
He is survived by: his children, Diane Bondy (Jason) and David Gomes of Alberta; his sisters, Maria Gomes (late Manuel), Ilda Ramalho (late Antonio) and Maria Rebelo (late Jose) of Vancouver, B. C.; and his siblings-in-law, Fernando Vieira (Maria), Julia Mendes (late Pedro) and Ana Carvalho (Jose) of Portugal. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Gerald A. Smith Funeral Home (197 King St W, Harrow, ON N0R1G0). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the St. Anthony's of Padua Church (120 Munger St W, Harrow, ON N0R1G0). A prayer was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 at the Colchester Memorial Cemetery (415 Erie Rd S, Harrow, ON N0R1G0).
