Erin Wall Obituary

We are sad to announce that on October 8, 2020, at the age of 44, Erin Wall (Erin, Ontario), born in Calgary, Alberta passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She is survived by: her husband Roberto Mauro; her children, Michael and Julia Mauro; her sister Shannon Wall; and her parents, Michael Wall and Suzanne Wall.

Years later, I became acquainted with her music again, this time as a voting member of the Recording Academy. Her recording of Mahler’s Eighth Symphony with the San Francisco Symphony was amazing. “My honest und deepest condolences to the family. A couple of weeks ago I was a bed neighbour at Princess Margaret hospital. I did not know that she was a famous opera singer. She was a wonderful woman who didn’t want to die . We had a wonderful wonderful night and day of talking and it felt like my sister was talking to me about everything. It felt for both of us extraordinary satisfying and our common cancer sickness was forgotten for quite some hours. I will miss you. Konny”
