He was predeceased by: his parents, George Mitchell and Mary Mitchell (Farquhar); and his siblings, Jenny (Dan), Ella (Joe), George (Helen) and Betty (Joe).
He is survived by: his wife Diana; his son Geordie (Andrea); and his brother-in-law Alex (Sandra). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
