He was predeceased by: his parents, George Hillis and Lizzie Hillis; and his siblings, Dorothy, Bill, Gladys and Donny.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis; his children, Juanda Hillis and Michael Hillis (Barbara); his grandchildren, Stacey Holloway (Scott), Keri Hons (Allan) and Ben Hillis (Lael); his great grandchildren, Hayden, Hudson Boyd, Grace, Emma Hons, Cameron and Logan Hillis; his sister Shirley Cudney; and his brother-in-law Les Cudney.
In lieu of flowers donations in Mac's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
