He was predeceased by: his parents, Reuben Thompson Turner and Alice Mae (Twamley); his wife Mary; his son Harry Charlton; his sons-in-law, John Alles and Ken Sulkye; his siblings, Grant, Ross, Howard and Eunice Stevenson; and his brothers-in-law, Orland Dippel and Morley Anderson.
He is survived by: his children, Mary Alles of Mount Forest, John McAughey (Pauline) of Waterloo and Larry Charlton (Judy) of West Grey; his daughter-in-law Kate Charlton of Chesley; his grandchildren, Cathy Dahms, Jim Sulkye, Lisa Dennison (Don), Jay McAughey (Anna), Alicia Rogers (Craig) and Matthew Charlton (Crystal); his great grandchildren, Steven (Kristen), Justin, Travis, Jacob, Ben, Jonah, Keegan, Ethan and Abbie; his great great grandchild Sebastian; his siblings, Melvin (Karin), Margaret Anderson and Frieda Dippel; and his siblings-in-law, Audrey Turner and Emmerson Stevenson.
This pastime was especially important and helped pass the time during COVID which placed a lot of stress on our seniors being masked, locked down and isolated for long periods of time with few visitors or activities.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the War Amps, Children's Wish Foundation or charity of your choice would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
