He was predeceased by: his siblings, Orville Thompson, Bruce Thompson and Ethel Hastie. He is survived by: his daughter Janice Stangler; his grandchild Ashley; and his siblings, Ross Thompson (Helen) and Gertrude Maxwell. He is also survived by his extended family and friends.
