He was predeceased by: his spouse Jean Anderson; his son William James; and his siblings, Melville, Jack, Leslie, Cecil Anderson, Ethel Peart, Margaret Peart, Mary Peart and Agnes Harrison.

He is survived by: his daughters, Dianne (Jim Magwood), Brenda (Brad Schenk), Edith (Joe Fournier) and Lisa (Warren Harrison); and his grandchildren, Jennifer Magwood (Brandon), Matthew Magwood, Nathan Magwood, Michael Fournier, Melissa Harrison and Marklow Harrison (Karlee).
