He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Tina; his stepchildren, Steven Rands (Thamo) and Jaime Jagt (Jay); his grandchildren, Rhys, Myles Hurly-Rands and Remington Jagt (Remy); his daughter Teresa Wong (Dean); his grandchildren, Lucas and Nicola Wong; and his son Robert DeBoersap (Marion). He was also cherished by six brothers and sisters.
