He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward and Marjorie; and his brother Dale. He is survived by: his children, Philip Splatt (Andrea) and Melanie Splatt (Derek); his grandchild Ewan; the mother of his children Diane Garcia (Jose); his grandson Luke Splatt; and his siblings, Douglas (Nancy), Robert (Brenda), Gail Hodges (Lloyd) and Kathy Vanderwyk (Bob). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
