He was predeceased by: his parents, Violet Walters and Samuel Walters. He is survived by: his wife Judy; his children, Elizabeth Marinelli (Rick), David (Anne) and Richard (Amanda); his grandchildren, Sam, Richard, Mike, Abby, Tom, Jason and Spencer; and his great grandchild Charlotte.

For those who wish, donations in his memory may be made to the St. Joseph's Hospital, Firestone Institute for Respiratory Health, Pulmonary Fibrosis Research.
