He was predeceased by: his wife Marian McCowan; his parents, Matsuji Kurita and Hatsu Kurita; and his sisters, Akiko Irene, Yoshi Margaret, Kathleen Aiko and Lily Fumiko.
He is survived by: his brother Roy Shoichi; his nieces and nephews, Jeannine Hack, Sharon Lee, Debbie Sakaguchi, Patti Kurita, Janice Kurita, Keith Sakaguchi, Bob Sakaguchi, Richard Nagai, Warren Oda and Kelvin Oda; and his grandchildren, Danielle and Paul Nicholls. He is also survived by grand nieces and nephews and great grand nieces and nephews.
