He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Wilfred Turkstra, Dennis Searby, Lynn Taylor and Trudy Taylor; his mother-in-law Sherry Gibson; and his cousin Michael Bennardo.

He is survived by: his wife Jennifer Chitty; his son Bryce; his parents, Elaine Turkstra and Ron Turkstra; his siblings, Mark Turkstra (Tanya), Andrew Turkstra (Julie), Ian Turkstra and Marisa Arnold (Pat); his grandmother Lilian Searby; his fathers-in-law, David Chitty (Michelle) and Richard Gibson; his siblings-in-law, Jessica Greene (Johcey) and Jared Chitty (Crystal); and his nieces and nephews, Emily, Addison, Maya, Payton, Brianna, Shylah, Alyx, Tyson, Joseph, Anthony and William. He is also survived by his many aunts, uncles and cousins.
