He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Mirina Smykaluk (Mary) and Konstantine Smykaluk (Kacey); his brother Alex; his wife Brenda Smykaluk (Wright); his children, Melanie (Ian), Martin (Dianne), Tom (Karen), Trevor (Nancy), Kezia (Peter) and Sara (Erik); and his grandchildren, Sara, Tony, James, Rhome, Andrew, Natasha, Alex, Bethany, David, Narelle, Ayden, Grace, Siri and Connor.

With COVID curtailing his outings even more, it became obvious that he really missed these interactions.

In lieu of flowers, he asks that you do something nice for somebody else unexpectedly, and without explanation.
