He was predeceased by: his former wife Gertrude Papakyriakou; his parents, Michael Papakyriakou and Virginia Papakyriakou (Greece); and his aunt Alice Licos (Greece). He is survived by: his children, Michael (Peigi) of Maple, Alex (Christina Marshall) of Toronto, Tim of Winnipeg and Christina Palmer (Dave) of Vancouver; his wife Gertraud Singh; his stepchildren, Sheila (Stevan Gacesa) and Raja (Priya Arora); his sister Niki (George Thomas) of Ottawa; his niece Michelle (Christian); his nephew James (Linda); his grandchildren, John (Alison), Ben (Milan), Matt (Kristen), Ashleigh, Brendan, Nick, Alexander, Rafael and Rohan; and his great grandchildren, Theo and Troy.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the Panagia Greek Orthodox Church and Emmanuel House Hospice.
