He was predeceased by: his parents, Anne King and Charles King; his siblings, Elsie Porter, Walter King, Victor King and Dorothy Hokanson; and his nephews, Keith Porter and Lloyd King.
He is survived by: his wife Frances; his children, Eric (Kathy), Sandra and Violet (John); his grandchildren, Christopher (Danielle), Shannon (Byron), Graeme (Riley), Stephan, Simon (Brooke) and Emily (Cody); his great grandchild Mason; his sister-in-law Sigrun; and his significant other Sasha. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
