He was predeceased by: his parents, Jules Hyfte and Augusta Van Hyfte; his parent-in-law Garnet; and his brothers, Arsene (Irene) and Gerard.
He is survived by: his wife Carol; his children, Debra Myers of Wallaceburg, Cindy Giomo of Courtenay, B. C., Brenda Horn (Jay) of Centralia, Sandra Van Hyfte of Dresden and Brian Van Hyfte (Catherine) of Chatham; his grandchildren, Rene, Scott, Kaela, Matteo, Lisa (Ryan), Alanna (Jason), Ryan, Kristen and Clayton; his great grandchildren, Maxwell, Madelyn and Jacob; his mother-in-law Audrey Squires; and his siblings-in-law, Bill Squires (late Ann), Jim Squires (late Gertrude) and Susan McDonald (late Lynn). He is also survived by his nieces and nephews as well as his extended family and his many friends.
