He was predeceased by: his wife Doreen McFadden (McDonald); his granddaughter Brittany; and his siblings, Lyle, Douglas, Garnet, Morley and Sara Paling.

He is survived by: his children, Don McFadden (Lynda), Mandy Sherman (late George), Debby Jackson (Brian), Rob McFadden (Chris) and Amy Oliphant (Chris); his grandchildren, Jason, Kyle, Chris (Nicole), Jillian (Cory), Kari (Jamie), Kendra (Aaron), Rachel (Tyler), Tyler (Heather), Josh (Jacqueline) and Cody; and his great grandchildren, Cam, Drew, Sawyer, Caden, Connor, Vienna, Asher, Declan, Charlotte, Liam, Ava and Arthur.
