Jake De Vries Obituary

We are sad to announce that on November 22, 2020, Jake De Vries of Drayton, Ontario passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his son Steven; his parents, Klaas DeVries and Hendrika DeVries (Dolsma); his brother Jerry DeVries; his father-in-law John T. Nymeyer; and his brother-in-law Jake Koster.

He is survived by: his wife Theresa (Nymeyer); his children, Tom, Alison De Vries, Rita, John Cole, Karen, Trevor Sutcliffe, Brenda, Ben Van Dongen, Krista, Jeff McKay, Julie De Vries and Josh Lehman; his grandchildren, Finley, Ainsley, Quinn De Vries, Allen Cole, Gracie, Shane, Micah Sutcliffe, Brenden, Braeden, Beth, Brian Van Dongen, John and Macks McKay; his mother-in-law Klazina Nymeyer; and his siblings, Margaret (Bob Vandervelden), Albert (Bonnie DeVries), Bill (Herma DeVries), Jean (Willem Bouwman), Coba (Berend Mensinga), Art (Alice Nymeyer) and John (Phyllis Nymeyer). He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews and friends.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions a private family service will be held in the Drayton Christian Reformed Church on Thursday, November, 26, 2020 at 1:30 p. m. and will be lived streamed at that time.

As expressions of sympathy donations to Palmerston and District Hospital Foundation, Grand River Hospital Cancer Centre or the Community Christian School, Drayton would be appreciated by the family.
