He was predeceased by: his spouse Pieterdina "Diny" Rumph; his children, Bernice and Gerard Hoftyzer; his siblings, Henry (Lammie Rumph), Annmarie Rumph Jake (Theresa Rumph), Hilda (John Steenbergen) and Alice Van Dyke (Ralph Van Dyke); his siblings-in-law, John, Sharon Drost, Lucas Drost, Grace Geerlinks, Linda Marissen, Helen and Jerry McClymont; his parents, Albert Rumph and Lutina Rumph; and his brother Albert (Ann Rumph).

He is survived by: his children, Alfred, Helen Rumph of Drayton, Jacqueline, Ron Vanderwees of Winkler, Nancy Rumph of Fergus, Arnold and Teresa Rumph of Drayton; his grandchildren, Abigail, Annarose, Aidan Rumph, Jared, Michael, Felicia, Steven Vanderwees, Darryl, Jennifer Hoftyzer, Michelle, Mike DeWeerd, Krista, Rob Scholten, Robert, Nicole Hoftyzer, Erika, Matthew, Shawna, Joel Rumph, Elsie, Maxwell Vanderwees, Wesley, Greyson, Theo, Lexi Hoftyzer, Jake Scholten and Zoey Hoftyzer; his brother Arnold (Cathy Rumph); and his siblings-in-law, Jane Drost, Bert Geerlinks, Jake Marissen, Jenny, Sid Sigtema, Alice and Fred Kuper. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews and friends.
