He was predeceased by: his former wife Edith; his siblings, Norma Love, Lenore Eby, Doris Dealy, Tom and Bill; and his parents, Howard Middleton and Hilda Middleton (Brunton).

He is survived by: his spouse Audrey (Porter); his children, David McCannel (Heather) of Chesley and Joan McCannel (Peter) of Burgoyne; his stepchild Marilyn Sachs (Gary) of Hamilton; his grandchildren, Kara (Mark), Brynn (Jason), Caiden (Leah), Rebekah (Steve), Dan (Sheena), Courtney (Bill) and Kellin (Larissa); his stepgrandchildren, Krista (Matt) and Shannon (Roy); and his siblings-in-law, Ada Middleton and Lloyd Dealy. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, neighbours and good friends.

Memorial donations to Canadian Blood Services, Chesley Hospital Foundation or Chesley Minor Ball would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
