It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Doug Ellis of Douglas, Ontario, born in Ottawa, Ontario, who passed away on September 29, 2024, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his former wife Eleanor; his children, Wendy Laurin and Ronald; his siblings, Ronald Ellis, Marguerite Cassidy (Michael) and Dorothy Sanchez (Gerrard); his nephew Ronald Cassidy (Heather); and his parents, Hector Wilson Ellis and Elizabeth Jane Guy.
He is survived by: his spouse Shirley; his grandchildren, Jeremy Laurin (Catharine) and Kimberley O'Brien (Matthew); his great grandchildren, Colton and Ronan O'Brien; his son-in-law Guy Laurin (Sheila); his nieces and nephews, Miki Wood (late Ron) and Lynda Donaldson (late Norrie); and his caregivers, Karen, Jackie, Dr. Fuoco, Cindy, LifeLabs, Katie, Shannon, Sandy and Kelsey.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 17th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Irvine Memorial Chapel (2451 County Rd 15, Maitland, ON K0E1P0). A memorial service was held on Thursday, October 17th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A reception was held on Thursday, October 17th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Brockville and District Hospital Foundation - Palliative Care Program or, the Urology Department; or to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute will be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
