He was predeceased by: his father George Bennett Sr. (Mildred); and his siblings, Gerald Bennett (Bianca), Blake Bennett (Evelyn), Sam Bennett (Alice), Florence McCallum (Angus) and Leila Mackney (William).
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Bennett; his children, Carolin McBride (Colin), Carleton Bennett (Kim) and Patrick Bennett (Tina); his grandchildren, Amber Ingold (Steve), Jesse McBride (Tosin), Greg Bennett, Kyle Bennett (Karlie) and Neal Bennett; his great grandchildren, Lilly Herbert and Mackenzie Ingold; and his brother Hedley Bennett (Pat). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and sister and brother in laws.
