He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Stafford and Mary Stafford (Root); his spouse Sharon Stafford; his children, Kerry Lynn Finnie (Kevin), Belleville Howatt and Lee Ann Howatt (Ryan); his siblings, Ruth Blamire (Michael), Donald Stafford (Patricia), Brenda Molnar (Victor), Belleville Stafford and Clair Stafford; and his siblings-in-law, Steven Ervine (Mavis), Peter Ervine, Darryl Ervine (Janet) and Scott Ervine (Sherry). He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.
