It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Vera Irene McGillis (Deep River, Ontario), who passed away on February 3, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Milton McGillis; her child Merle McGillis (Laurie) of Thunder Bay; her parents, Egbert Wegner and Elsie Wegner; and her siblings, Gordon Wegner, Joyce McNamara and Florence Sutherland.

She is survived by: her children, Larry McGillis (Sandra) of Renfrew and Brenda McGillis-Richard (Mike) of Chapeau; her grandchildren, Robert, Amanda, Ryan, Ashley McGillis, Justin and Christopher Richard; her great grandchildren, Abby, Brodie, Levi, Bryce, Owen, Quinn and Kai; and her sister Dorothy Homer.
