He was predeceased by: his brother Paul; and his parents, John and Pauline. He is survived by: his significant other Mae Whetung-Derrick; his children, Sheri and Bevin (Steven); his grandchildren, Austin, Kalum, Bailey-Rae and Eamon; and his siblings, Redman, Joan, Angela and Natalie. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
