It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Ed Ovecka of Croton, Ontario, born in Port Hope, Ontario, who passed away on January 3, 2025, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his wife Joanne; and his parents, Nick Ovecka and Anna Ovecka (Vanek). He is survived by: his sons, Richard (Tracy), Russ (Sherri) and Randy (Mark); his grandchildren, Annette Doskas (Chris), Christopher Ovecka (Alicia), Shelby Ovecka-Richards (Greg), Mark Ovecka (Victoria), Steven Ovecka (Braidyn), Morgan Ovecka, Chantelle Jones (Brad) and Daniel Ovecka; his great grandchildren, Lilliana, Cohen, Brylee, Cambree, Keegan, Brantley, Kristian, Erikson, Talina, Jareth, Lillith, Damian and Jackson; his sisters, Mary Pavlinak and Julie Callow (Randy); and his brothers-in-law, Ernest Gruberbauer (Leona) and Willy Pavlinak (Ruth). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Badder Funeral Home & Reception Centre (679 North St, Dresden, ON N0P1M0). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

If desired, donations may be made to the Old Czech Hall or the Dresden Legion Br. # 113.
