He is survived by: his wife Jesmond; his children, Michael (Patti), Graeme (Marie) and Julianne; his grandchildren, Katherine (Jacob), David (Maria), Nathan, Karen (Luis) and Brenda (Eric); his great grandchildren, Sebastian, Adrian, Phoenix-Rose, James, Amelia and Bennett; and his sister Lorna.
