He was predeceased by: his mother Marjorie. He is survived by: his parent Byron Newby (Marlene) of Corunna; and his siblings, Jim Russell (Christine) of Vancouver, Selena Fraser (Mark) of Corunna, Brad Newby of Corunna and Maxine Dabanovich (Don) of Corunna.
