He was predeceased by: his wife Eileen Martel (Lemoine); his parents, Rene Martel and Emilia Martel (Cote); and his siblings, Maurice Martel (Rose) and Annette Andruck (Leslie).

He is survived by: his children, Michael Martel (Bonnie), Paula Martel (Philip) and Mary Lou Leroux (Victor); and his grandchildren, Lance, Elissa, Holly, Travis, Adam, Noah, Jessica and Jonah.
