He was predeceased by: his children, Vince and Barbara; and his siblings, John, Kenneth and Olive.

He is survived by: his wife Marlene; his son Richard (Kim Larue-Taillon); his grandson Justin Taillon Lafrance (Karine Lelievre); his sister Wanda Welcher (Ronald); and his sister-in-law Lillian.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society.
