He was predeceased by: his wife Marina Aitken (Wilson); his former wife Darleen Aitken (McGee); and his parents, Thomas Aitken Sr. and Helen Aitken (Poapst). He is survived by: his children, Robert Aitken (Manjit), David Aitken (Donna), Susan Poirier (Chris) and Heather Sheehan (Robert Thomas); his grandchildren, Lucy, Andrew Aitken, Allister, Katie Aitken, Brandon, Kyle, Jonah Poirier, Greer Wright and Ann Thomas; his great grandchildren, Luke Poirier, William and James Wright; and his brothers, Alex Aitken (Lois) and Jim Aitken (Norma).

Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Wilson Funeral Home (822 Pitt St, Cornwall, ON K6J3S2). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.

Memorial donations to Hospice Cornwall or the Jays Care Foundation (to support the development of baseball in Canada) would be appreciated by the family.
