He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Benoit and Irene Benoit (Primeau); his birth parents, Ubald Ranger and Fernande Trottier; and his siblings, Richard Ranger, Raymond Ranger (Jeannette), Denise Wright (late Graham) and Pierrette Siebel (Paul).

He is survived by: his wife Denise Benoit (Forgues); his daughters, Wendy Filion (Roch), Lisa Heverly (John) and Jennifer Lavoie (Patrick); his grandchildren, Jordan Filion, Evan Filion, Taylor Samson, Codi Lavoie (Taylor) and Jacob Lavoie (Angel); his great grandchildren, Graysen and Camille; and his siblings, Robert Benoit (Sharon), Nancy Lauzon, Robert Ranger (Joyce), Diane Ferguson (Lyn) and Ronnie Ranger (Lynn). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
