He was predeceased by: his grandson Micheal Dowson; his brothers, Douglas and Frank Jr.; and his parents, Frank Butzer and Dora Butzer.

He is survived by: his wife Monique Butzer; his children, Debbie Butzer, Stephen Butzer (Lisa André), Karen Butzer (Douglas Amelotte) and Mark Butzer (Victoria Williams); his grandchildren, Kaitlan Butzer (Ryan), Elizabeth Lemaire (Anthony), Zachary Dowson, Jennifer Lamont (Charles), Robyn Butzer, Laura Butzer (Tyler Galindo), Krista Atchison, Nicholas Atchison, June Butzer and Lauren Butzer; and his sibling Shirley Ravary (Marcel). He is also survived by 19 great-grandchildren.
