He was predeceased by: his parents, John Ray and Annie Ray (Alguire); and his brothers, Eric, Ralph and Russell.

He is survived by: his spouse Hortense Ray (Pilon); his children, Sheila Bough (Jim), Gordon Ray (Joan) and Brenda Dombroskie (Benny); and his grandchildren, Jennifer (Robert), Daniel (Nikki), Geoffrey (Margaret), Robert (Karen), Derrick and Jonathan (Jacqueline). He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
