He was predeceased by: his parents, Simon Filion and Gabrielle Filion; and his sisters, Colombe Lefebvre and Denise Fortier. He is survived by: his wife Reina Filion (Gauthier); his children, Denis Filion, Michel Filion and Dr. Suzanne Filion (André Varin); his grandchildren, Mikaël Giroux (Danielle Ouellette) and Chanelle Giroux (Romuald Jean); his sister Rita Filion; and also, Nikolas Varin and Sara Varin.

In accordance with the Provincial Covid-19 regulations, all guests attending the visitation are required to wear masks and maintain social distancing of 6 feet (2 meters).
