He was predeceased by: his former wife Olive Taillon; his sons, Michael Degan and Shaun Degan; his parents, Herbert Degan and Irene Degan (Dow); and his siblings, John Degan (Freda) and Shirley Rochon (late Romeo).
He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Degan (McKercher); his child Kelly-Lynne Boisvenue (Paul); and his siblings, Wayne (late Sheila) and Joy DesGagne (late Rolland). He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
