He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Shiel and Nelly Shiel; and his siblings, Padrick Shiel, Michael Shiel, Leo Shiel and Margaret Franklin.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Shiel of Cornwall; his children, Deirdre Branchaud (Wayne) of St. George, Brendan Shiel (Lee) of Blackstock and Erin Vivian (Darrell) of Gander, NL.; his grandchildren, Eamy, Amanda, Steven, Shawna, Krista, Sarah and Cate; and his siblings, Mary Costello (Eddie) of Ireland and Liz Shiel of Ireland. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers As expressions of sympathy. Memorial donations to the Parkinson Association of Ontario or to the St. Joseph's Continuing Care Center would be appreciated by the family.
