He was predeceased by: his wife Ruth Hamel; his parents, Romeo Hamel and Laurette Hamel; and his brothers, Gerard Hamel (Peggy) and Robert Hamel.
He is survived by: his children, Ron Hamel (Marie Giroux), Rick Hamel (Kristine Kyer), Judy Hamel (Scott Bray) and Cindee Archambault (Dave); and his sister Claudette Lahaie (John).
