He was predeceased by: his son John; his siblings, Donald, Sheena Cowie and Christina Luck (Stan); and his parents, John Wright and Morag Wright.

He is survived by: his spouse Margaret Wright; his children, David Wright (Suzanne), Graham Wright (Michele) and Janet Wright; and his grandchildren, Alexandra, Mackenzie, Christopher (Kelly), Stephen, John (Brandi), Andrew (Kate), Jennifer (Matt), Angela and Michael (Annick).
