He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Johnson (Andre); his daughter Debra Johnson Square; his parents, Francis Johnson and Mary-Anne Johnson (Dealy); and his siblings, Anne, Tom and Bob Johnson.

He is survived by: his daughters, Annie Muir (Kenny), Frances Johnson and Regina Johnson (David Verville); and his grandchildren, Jaimee Lee Square (Hank Cook), Crystal Square (Harlen Edwards), Kayla Square and Conor Stansel. He is also survived by many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
