He was predeceased by: his wife Joyce Gilligan; his parents, Michael Gilligan and Alice Gilligan; and his brother Peter Gilligan. He is survived by: his sons, Sean Gilligan (Lynne), Keith Gilligan and Michael Gilligan; his grandchildren, Matthew, Michael, Geoffrey, Sydney, Amy, Melissa, Kaitlyn, Rebecca and Heather; his great grandchild Tommy; and his siblings, Anne Bottomley (late Denis), Emma O'Connor and Shamus.
